if you frequent open mic nights at the logon café, chances are you've heard sean heyl and me. we've been playing wednesday nights since 1997, and we're coming back from our respective universities this december to play a laid-back show that we hope will be memorable for everyone in attendance. we began collaborating early in high school when we'd bring our guitars to school and play in the library for the crowd that would gather. shortly afterward, we began playing open mic and performed as john brown's body with calem atkins and kyle petersen. since then, we've been getting together every time we have a chance, coming up every wednesday we're in town, but mostly playing in sean's garage when all of our friends get together. we've noticed that whenever we take the stage, it's always been with a friend or two, so we'll have some of them up there with us from song to song. we've always had a great time when we're up on the stage, and we're going to do a show around that very idea. we're going to make it easy for everyone, our audience and ourselves, to have fun and enjoy it. we're going to play a lot of songs everyone knows, songs everyone can get into, mostly upbeat acoustic rock with our own spin on it. we've come up with some new material on our own, and i'm sure a few of those songs will make appearances, but the majority of the songs will be covers... some coldplay, dave matthews band, soul coughing, john mayer, things of that nature. we hope you'll come check out the show. we'll be playing our hearts out. todd 10.09.02 |
